Teddi's Big Adventure at The Christmas Tree Farm!

Dad promised me TODAY was the Big Day!

We were going to cut down a Christmas Tree!

We needed Mom to come to take pictures.... her and  I wore matching sweaters!

Dad found an 8 foot beauty and asked me if I likes it ~

 Yeah Dad ~ weeee ~ that's the ONE!!!

Daddy is so strong ~ he had it down in no time.

 I jumped on the cart with the tree for a ride back to Dad's truck.

 I made a new friend too! We were the same color.

 She was a little too fresh though ~embarrassing with Mom there so....

 I jumped in Dad's truck and said good bye.

 Me and Mom are getting ready to decorate our beautiful Christmas Tree.
Here we are in our matching sweaters!

 Mom will show you pictures when we are done decorating.

A Silk Pillow Idea, Time to Indulge

Hi Friends!

I wanted to share an idea I saw many years ago on line ~ wish I knew where so I could share the link.

When I placed the pillow on the chair to take the photo ~ Teddi jumped right up next to it for a nap!

He's such a show off!

I used the printer fabric from Walmart and printed the photo a full 8 x 12.

After ironing the photo to a piece of dupioni silk ~ I machine embroidered a design to the left bottom corner and a T for Teddi on the right top corner.

Using vintage velvet ribbon that used to belong to my Aunt ~ a hat maker in Chicago ~

I carefully machine stitched the velvet on both side of the ribbon ~ placing the ribbon on the sides first, the top and bottom last.

I hand stitched a big velvet bow to the right corner.

Then simply sew another piece of silk to the top ~ right sides together ~ leaving a generous sized opening to turn right side out. I used a pillow form on the inside.
The silk and velvet create a classy look that would be so perfect for a wedding photo ~
especially in sepia!

I made this for my friend Lisa's birthday recently.
The fabrics are very unusual ~ I purchased them on a trip to New York City last fall.
They are Japanese fabrics ~ they have a polyester feel but were very pricey so I am wondering if they have silk in them?
6 very tiny pieces ~ maybe a 1/18 of a yard each or less ~ was $26.00.
Do any of you know what this fabric is? Everything was in Japanese so I can only guess.

What I've Been Working On

This is a tiny 5' by 5 1/2" pillow is for my friend Nancy ~ a thank you for a wonderful lunch we shared together.

I finished this pouch and sent it to my Aunt Pat in memory of my cousin Kris who passed away 1 year ago.

Kris always wore the smile you see on her beautiful face.

This was an order from my pal Jayne for her ADORABLE Yorkie Zoe.

I also wanted to THANK Jayne for the special award and sweet comments she expressed on her blog which touched me so.

They slip right over your baby's collar.

Oh my ~ I just had to share these with you!
Teddi our Yorkie and Jake our Brittney ~ my companions and little loves of my life.
(thank goodness my husband never reads my blog!)

He get's so bored when I spend hours working outside ~ he goes up to the deck to watch me from there.

I caught him snoozing!

My Jakee Boy

Our sweet dog Jake has had me worried lately.

He seems to trip over himself and have coughing fits for no reason.

The vet says he is great for his age but I feel like I have begun a long good-bye.

Jake has been our boy for a long time!

He is 14 1/2 years old.

He adores my husband most of all ~ and is still the envy of all the other hunters

when Frank brings him bird hunting.

I pray over him often and the Lord has healed many of his ailments ~ ears infections, a hideous lump on his leg that wouldn't heal before prayer.

I guess I need to ~ once and for all~ put him in God's hands and then enjoy

every new day that he shares with us!
