Mothers Day Love From Jaci
These arrived at my job this week from my daughter Jaci. I have never seen tulips like these! The periwinkle center and fringed edge is just breathtaking. The dandelion bouquets she gave me as a little girl always had a place of great honor in our home. But WOW ~ this grown up version ain't so bad!!!
My precious son Franky gathered this beautiful beach glass for me the other day. He was working at a home on the Long Island sound ~ located on a large piece of private beach front.
Beach glass has always been as exciting to me as I guess diamonds are to most girls. It is the purest form of nature taking something not so nice (litter) and turning into a thing of beauty. I am fascinated by it.
When I began blogging and "met" Pat Winter (http://gatherings100.blogspot.com/) ~ I was reminded of this love of mine through her blog. She makes frequent visits to the beach with her Mom ~ and often gets a loving "wink" from her Dad by way of the blue beach glass that she finds.
As I studied each piece ~ I couldn't get Pat off my mind. Suddenly ~ what did I see but the name PAT clear as day ~ across one of the pearly white beauty's! Do you see it in the middle photo!?!
....... These are the moments that make life so rich. Beautiful sea glass hand picked by my son ~ the name of someone so dear to me randomly etched in it.

The President Gets Lucky!
My friend Brenda has worked tirelessly not only for the Republican party but for all things that she believes in. She has a long list of achievments and has a special passion for helping to improve her local school system.
After a long day of volunteer work she did at a recent event President Bush was attending ~ he chose her pretty face to pose with. I say he was one lucky guy!

Happy Mother's Day To My Mom :)
I still filled the house with Lilac's and Pansy's for you ~ even though you couldn't come to visit this year!
It has that sweet familiar smell that reminds me of you. This was the first year I was able to pick them from my own yard instead of driving to all kinds of strange locations to "borrow a few blooms." I was reminded of the year I got so excited about a lilac bush on the side of the road ~ I forgot to put the car in park when I jumped out of the car ~ it rolled back and smashed into the car parked across the street!
Any amount of effort was worth your delight when you walked in the house from your long flight to the sweet smell of Lilacs everywhere!
I am missing you this week Mom ~ next year we will make up for it!
If He Cares for the Sparrow ~ How Much More Will He Care For You?
Early Fri. morning ~ I heard a huge THUMP on my bedroom window. I looked out and saw nothing. When I went downstairs to let my dogs out ~ I saw a lifeless baby bird lying on my deck. It was pouring rain and he was soaked. I wrapped him in paper towels and held him in my hands ~ asking God to put life back in his body. When he appeared dry ~ I placed him in a dry paper towel in a cup on my deck table. I went in to get breakfast and when I went to check back on him ~ his eyes were starting to open. As I prayed ~ he began to "wake up" ! I went out to take his picture ~ just after this shot ~ he flew off to a tree on the far side of my yard!
Matt. 6 : 25, 26 ~ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life.........Look at the birds in the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they?
My Cher Bear
My Cheri had to have emergency surgery this week-end to remove her appendices. She smiled going in to surgery and continued to smile and look beautiful ~ even when she was in pain. Would it be terrible to say how much I enjoyed spending the week-end with her at the hospital ? I got to rub her feet, stroke her head, and spending quiet time by her side as she slept. She is 25 years old now so these moments don't come with the frequency they once did.
I also got to see how tender and loving her boyfriend Tony is. These are the moments when you learn the most about a person. As he and I sat in the waiting room during surgery ~ I felt I was with one of my own children.
I also got to buy my girl a funky get well gift ~ a beta fish in a glass cube. Cher always liked fun and different things as a child. One spring I planted black tulips and pansy's for her ~ during her "black is my fav color " pre-teen stage.
I honestly couldn't have asked for a nicer way to spend Mother's Day week-end than being by my girl's side ~ and catching tiny glimpsed of the little girl that once was.
